This is a large property in the rainforest, with 180 degree ocean views and 180 degree view to the mountains, covered with a dense tropical forest. The Owner requested a home to improve the human spirit and enrich his life, with the roof as a key element, large entertaining areas, several guest suites and water features. The Owner built access roads on the steep slopes at both ends of the building site. The red soil makes a striking contrast with the dark green color of the forest. The serpentine shape of the roads and the aboriginal Rainbow Serpent legend inspired the design of the house. All the wings of the residence are connected by an undulating serpentine shaped roof, with alternating slopes that span over the private road to provide a covered access by car to each wing. This is a desirable feature due to very heavy seasonal rainfall.
